Domo Wasabi?

So I walked into a 7-11 tonight with the full intention of going against my rules of no cheap snacks of sugary death, and I encountered something I never expected to find in such a place and in such a time.

'Feng Shui - Hot Wasabi Coated Green Peas', is what I found and I was like 何本ですか.(nanbon desuka).

So I proceeded to buy them and when I got home I surreptitiously opened them up and quickly popped one in my mouth after studiously studying the Wasabi covered dried pea for less than a nano-second.

The sharp wasabi taste assaulted my taste buds and then the dry crunchy pale-green pea filtered through my palette and I became ultimately aware that this was, at least for me, the greatness snack opportunity of a life time; combining two of my very favorite items in one succulent package!

Although the pea comes out of the package looking like a pale-green puke version of its packaged photo, its savory sharp wasabi and dried pea taste reminds of some Space food that Nasa tried to pawn off on the public as the "Food of the Future".

However, although not necessarily very nutritious, it won't readily destroy any major diets at only 120 Calories per serving, (Serving size= 1/3 cup (32g) & Servings per container = 4 cups).

I looked up their website @ http://www.rolandfood.com/ and found the correct UPC# 041224837003 but the site only shows 'Wasabi Peas', here, at 30g per serving instead of the 'Hot Wasabi Coated Green Peas' at 32g per serving that I have, here:

But they seem to have a delicious and large selection of multiple products for every taste, though aimed at Asian style foods.

Roland Food even has a Recipes section, which is suitable for Vegetarians and Meat Eaters alike.

So if you are ever in your local 7-11, take a gander and dare to taste!

And don't forget to support Domonation and get one of many stylized Domo Characters, which also currently can be bought at 7-11's, too.

Here is Mine:
